Dear Helen's family:

We are so sorry to hear of Helen’s passing. We have known Helen for many years through the Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodges and also as a very dear friend and long time travel companion of Rilda Ross (Our Mom, 2016). Helen and Rilda along with two other ladies spent a lot of time together visiting other Lodge functions, playing cards and just socializing and enjoying each other’s company.

They called their foursome “The Merry Widows”

They are now together again.

Sincerely,
Gary and Shirley Ross

Mrs.Ayres was a second mother to my two brothers and myself. She had an eye out for us but would also rein us in if need be.
Fond memories of impromptu summer picnics and her delicious goose berry pie., and all day Christmas celebrations including two meals. Throughthe years she followed our lives as we grew into adulthood and followed the stories of our own children. She was a great friend to our mom throughout the years and loved telling stories of how we would get into trouble and the consequences that followed Mrs. Ayres was a strong individual who overcame many trials herself . She was one great woman who touched the lives of so many. Rest in peace
